Bendigo Tennis Academy
I have had a connection with Kane Dewhurst as he attended the Bendigo Junior Tennis Squad as a junior member. It was with great interest when Kane had completed his time on the circuit and decided to become a professional tennis coach I did not hesitate in approaching Kane to visit Bendigo to conduct tennis clinics. That was back in 2003. We have tennis clinics in Bendigo every year, our next being on August 18th in Bendigo. I have also taken a team of 14 players for a one week training camp at Vida which was a brilliant week of tennis.
The reason I invited Kane to Bendigo was to draw on his expertise from the circuit and to update the knowledge and work ethic of players involved in my tennis coaching program at the Bendigo Tennis Academy. This approach, in my opinion has been a remarkable success.
Kane and Vince Dattoli are leaders in the coaching of tennis, they are keen to share their coaching philosophies and my link with Vida has seen many players link up with Kane and Vince as regular clients.
The most notable has been Eliza Long a student from our the Bendigo Tennis Academy, I encouraged her to link up with Kane and the Vida Team this has seen Eliza become an 16’s National Champion, and play in two Australian Open Junior events at Melbourne Park.
From a coaching perspective Kane, Vince and the Vida team are always there to assist in the development of players, they are always supportive of my coaching program and encourage players I coach to continue in my program, as they progress through the Vida Program. I always appreciate that as a coach.
