The 2019 Austalian Open was the second year Misha Lotze was a part of the Ball Kid team. Read below some feedback about his experience.
Ballkids was an amazing experience, as you are an important part of the 10,000 strong AO team who are all passionate about tennis.
Ballkids don’t just “pick up balls” – it’s a one year multi-competency training program that requires a high level of skill and commitment. Without the ballkids the AO matches would not progress as smoothly as they do.
It is a great feeling when the tournament organisers, players and public acknowledge your hard work. Ballkids are iconic to the AO and have the bright uniforms to prove it.
My highlights of AO 2019 was being a ballkid for R1 match Cilic vs Tomic, R4 match Zverev vs Chardy and finally QF match Djokovic vs Nishikori. Djokovic is my favourite player so that was awesome. The atmosphere on the big arenas is incredible
Ultimately, ballkids is a once in a lifetime experience which is unforgettable. You play a valuable part in one of the best tennis tournaments in the world.
