Vida Tennis had a fantastic opportunity in taking 42 players to Swan Hill last week, of which, were 12 members from Box Hill SSC.
Coaches and players took the train from Southern Cross station Sunday morning and met and made new friendships over the course of the trip. Players played a lot of tennis matches with helpful pre and post match feedback from coaches. We warmed up as a team, ate dinner together as a team and supported each other when members of the group were competing on court. Box Hill members played a lot of singles and doubles tennis matches with consolation being offered in every event. The Vida team provided team-building based activities with plenty of opportunities to socialize around the tennis club and hotel with table-tennis and additional activities such as a tie-break doubles shoot-out competition that took place. Players were given the responsibility and independence of staying with other members of the Vida team to ensure that they were prepared to play each day. These responsibilities included going to bed at a reasonable time to allow for at least 8 hours of sleep per night, making their own breakfast, keeping their room tidy and doing their dishes, preparing and packing their tennis bags for multiple matches per day.
