The 2022 Tennis Only MCC Glen Iris Open will once again be an Australian Zone Open Series ($3,000) event.

Players are able to enter into one singles and one doubles event. There will be multiple draws of 32 in the singles events based on UTR rating and Match Play (formerly known as consolation) will be sign in only and players who lose in the first two rounds.

Doubles entries are online entry online – no onsite sign in.

We expect all matches will be played at MCC Glen Iris Valley for the 4 days. If entry numbers are higher than expected, Lauriston Lawn Tennis Club may be used on the first day.

All players who enter this event will receive an online code after entries close for Tennis Only. This code will give you a 20% discount on all products on the Tennis Only site for a two-week period. This will also be available instore at their new shop in Burwood Road, Hawthorn.

All matches will be played at MCC Glen Iris Valley Tennis Club.

Qualification

There will be no qualification for these events, rather multiple draws of 32 based on rating.

Main Draw

Boys and Girls 18&U events will be main draw only.

AMT Doubles will also be Main Draw Only.

Check the Fact sheet for Main draw start days but we anticipate they will start on Monday the 19th in the 18&U and some doubles may start on the 18th.

Match Play (Consolation) Events

Match Play events are “sign in” only and are not compulsory for all players losing in round 1 or 2 of the draw.

Doubles

Doubles matches may start on day 1 with some first-round matches being played on day 2. Doubles is online entry only (no sign in).

Scoring Formats

Open Main Draw: Best of two tie-break sets and match tie-break (first to 10 points with a margin of two) in lieu of a third set

Open Main Draw Doubles: Best of two tie-break sets and match tie-break (first to 10 points with a margin of two) in lieu of a third set. There is also no Ad scoring.

Match Play Singles: Best of two tie-break sets and match tie-break (first to 10 points with a margin of two) in lieu of a third set.

On-site re-string service

There will be an on site re-stringing service available at the MCC Glen Iris Valley Tennis Club for the duration of the event.

Free Wifi at MCC Glen Iris

During the event players at the MCC Glen Iris Valley Tennis Club will have access to free wifi. The password will be available at the tournament desk.

Practice

Venues will be open from 7.30am each morning for practice until matches start. We will ask you to bag and vacate the courts at 8.20am in preparation for 8.30am matches.
